Complete the interview & onboarding process

Qualified applicants, based on both resume and current Play In Faith areas of need, will be invited to participate in a 15 minute introductory Zoom call/interview, with a potential secondary call as well. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know one another! We will be happy to answer your questions on the call, as well as ask a few of our own ;)

Let's make an IMPACT!

Once the interview process and background screening is successfully completed, we get to work on finding you a great mentee-match! Demand can ebb and flow, especially as we get ramped up nation-wide, so most mentors will start with just 1 or 2 mentees a week. We try to cap at 3-4 max at a time, so true personal relationships can be forged. You will be a BIG part of this athlete’s life!

Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: Do We get paid?

Absolutely! Our mentors play a valuable role and deserve to be well-compensated. Pay averages to $40-$50/hour, and is paid on a per-session basis. All mentors are 1099 contractors and responsible for paying their own taxes, etc. If this is new to you, we are happy to provide some guidance

Question 2: How are sessions scheduled?

You and your mentee will be paired based on several factors, including schedule availability. It is imperative that you and your mentee both stick to your mutually-agreed upon scheduled appointments as frequently as possible.

Question 3: How does the mentoring occur?

A typical relationship consists of a 30-45 minute Zoom call every week, though some may be bi-weekly.  Mentees commit to a period of 13-39 weeks, with an ability to “re-up” after their purchased time expires.

Question 4: How many athletes can I mentor at once?

We typically start you slow with just a kid or two. Ideally, no more than 3-4 at any time, so you can forge real relationships and focus on growth and connection.

Question 5: Are there resources for me to lead the calls?

Absolutely!  We have a fantastic curriculum designed to help you guide each session, as well as some discussion prompts and focused questions to help you and your mentee grow together at each step of the journey!

Question 6: Does it matter where I live?

Nope.  We do our best to pair based on availability, so generally your mentee will be in the same time zone or one away, but the beauty of Play in Faith is that it is all virtual so you can connect from anywhere at any mutually-agreed upon time!

Question 7: Are there opportunities beyond mentoring?

We sure hope so! The aim of Play in Faith is to build one of the largest global platforms dedicated to removing the toxicity from youth sports and to serve as a resource for athletes, coaches, parents and administrators across the globe. We’d love to have our mentors recording drills and tips, participating in future business growth, and becoming part of a larger “family”. I hope we can be a springboard for a career well beyond your time mentoring with us!

Question 8: Am I expected to mentor "off-the-clock" as well?

No. Expectations will be set that mentor sessions are scheduled only through prescribed Zoom slots, and cell-phone conversations and texts are not permitted with students. It is possible you will have occasional scheduling communication from parents on rare occasions, but not ongoing conversations outside of mentor sessions. It is quite possible you’ll have some new fans on your social media though! :)
